This month, as part of my mandatory exit from Indian territory, I visited Colombo, capital of Sri Lanka. Quite a nice surprise, as this is basically in in-crowded clean version of India, with tropical temperature.
I guess the thing I liked the most was that it is easy to have a good lunch and chill in some nice café. Yet, it feels still not like a western country (try Singapore if you don’t see what I mean).

I am one of those who believe that you cannot pretend to be anything like a photographer if you are not a movie addict. So with that statement in mind, which I’m going to defend until the last day of my life, I’m going to write out loud that Bellflower (by Evan Glodell) is the most awesome movie I must have seen since a decade, thus you must go see this object ASAP !!!
With a 17000$ budget, it will offer you one of the most creative filming ever. I love the fact that most of the thing in this movie is just hand made, including the 5 cameras used, each with a specific style. And by this I mean the guy did not spend all the time in post processing to had some vintage touch here, some scratch there, he made the object to capture the scene in the final style. Something the Photoshop addicts should learn.
Of course, it doesn’t matter that it is just insanely filmed, it must have a great story and a brilliant soundtrack to make it a good film. I’m not going to waste it for you. The plot in most movie magazine is wrong (or will give you a wrong idea), it has nothing to do with apocalypse, only when apocalypse is the collapse of the only thing a lost soul can hang on to. It has nothing to do with Mad Max. It’s the real thing. It’s deep, it’s the violent, it’s will make you love and hate life. And about the soundtrack, it freaking rocks !
Please watch it ! Please make Evan Glodell the new star of independent movie ! Please don’t even look at a Guy Ritchie’s movies anymore, he doesn’t care, he gave up on cinema some years ago…

Great add from 2010… I remember watching it every times I went to the movie theater (and I use to go there a lot). I love the photography, the mood, and the funny ending, because who can aim right after such a long night !
